Subject: Closing eliminates continued reporting requirements

    This office has received your dissolution report.

    A review of your report indicates that you have no outstanding liabilities or assets. In addition, it is our understanding that you do not currently hold nor are seeking elective office.  Please be advised therefore that as of this date you are no longer required to file campaign finance disclosure reports with this office. 

    If you wish to maintain an active status with this office or if our understanding of your status is erroneous, please contact us immediately. Also please be advised that, in the future, if you raise or spend any monies to advance your political future you may again have reporting requirements with this office and should notify us immediately. 

    Please note that sections 2 and 5 of M.G.L. c.55 require that all receipted bills and accounts relative to contributions received, expenditures made and any other campaign finance activity must be retained for six years from the date of the relevant election.

     Our records indicate, however, that one or more of your campaign finance reports were filed late. As a result, you have been assessed, and remain personally liable for, the following penalties due in accordance with c. 55, s. 3.
